Detroit historical museum:

Detroit—The Arsenal of Democracy

Opened: Fall of 2012
Location: Detroit Historical Museum, Detroit MI
The Experience: This small-but-mighty gallery explores Detroit's big role in WWII—from the auto factories that churned out planes, tanks, trucks & munitions, to the people who flocked to Detroit to power wartime manufacturing. While the war effort turned Detroit into a boom town, this exhibit also touches on the tensions that arose--scarce housing, racial tensions, and an overloaded infrastructure.
