We're not kidding when we say we really can do it all. With over 30 years of combined experience in the museum world, Good Design Group is well-seasoned to tackle almost any challenge. We've carried numerous projects from concept to completion—both big and small. We believe that history matters and strive to help each of our clients tell their story to their audience. Chances are, we'll be a good fit for your project, but if you're not sure contact us.
We like to think of ourselves as a visitor's best friend, always considering about what they will see, learn and do in an exhibit.

No one likes to read a "book on the wall" but graphics are essential to any exhibit experience. And we don't like to marginalize them. We create graphics that just may spur visitors to take a second look.
No exhibit lives on its own, and education programming can add much to the visitor experience.
We do that too—from in-gallery activities to integrated classroom curriculum.
Research & Writing
Exhibit research can often become a rabbit-hole with endless options for presentation. We combine our exhibit design process with research & writing to create content that is on-point (the first time around).
John Metcalf founded Good Design Group in 2006 and Jennifer Beyer joined him as a business partner in 2007. John and Jen are hands-on, bringing diverse experiences to the table for each project.
John is the exhibit craftsman extraordinaire, with a flair for exhibits that are not only beautiful but very build-able. John is also an expert at finding the right interior design touches—from paint colors to flooring choices.
John has been designing exhibits since 1995 and holds a BS in Industrial Design from the University of Cincinnati.
Jen is the content expert with the ability to craft any story into an exhibit. She's also got a knack for creative activities that appeal to a wide variety of visitors.
Jen has been in the exhibit business since 2003 and holds a number of degrees from the University of Michigan: a BFA in Industrial Design; an MA in Education Curriculum Development, and an MA Certificate in Museum Studies.
